Books,A Bookshelf, & Black History Month

My sweet little aunt found the perfect bookshelf to go with my daughter's room.  It matches her toddler bed and her drawer set.  She said it was a great sale going on at JC Penney's and she just had to get it.  I loves me some Penneys. The shelf is too too cute!!  Most importantly, my husband put it together right away.  I couldn't wait to get the books on there, I don't even want to mention what I had been using to store her books.  I won't even go there.

Now I can arrange the books like a bookstore or library and change them out with the season or select a theme.  I'm so excited !  For the rest of this month I'll display some of our Dr. Martin Luther King books and next add in books that celebrate Black History month.

February is around the corner and it's time to celebrate Black History, which is American History.

Black History Month is a time to celebrate and recognize the contributions of those from the African Diaspora. Black History Month celebrates African Americans and other diverse cultural leaders, inventors, heroes, sheroes, scientists, researchers, musicians, athletes, and more that have achieved milestones and made contributions to the world.

I've created a Black History Activity Packet and I hope it is a great addition to your classroom lessons for the month of February. Please stop by my Teachers Pay Teachers store to check it out.  Click on any image below to jump over to my store.
